Coaching Requirements

Follow these steps to become a Certified Coach for Chicago Wapiti RFC:

1. Become a member of USA Rugby ($5 for Rookie Rugby) and our club by visiting the USA Rugby Membership Page: click here. We are listed as Chicago Wapiti Rookie Rugby (30560).
   1. All youth rugby club coaches, referees, and administers must agree to a background check by submitting their social security number to USA Rugby at the time of registration.
   2. The Adult Participation Waivers agreed to in the online registration process must be signed and delivered to the Wapiti secretary.
2. Fill out the CPD Adult Volunteer Application. This form also requires your SSN and a separate, Chicago Park District, background check. Due to our partnership with Revere Park and the CPD, we must also adhere to their youth volunteer requirements, too.
3. Attend a Rookie Rugby Coaching Certification Course. Dates of courses conducted by iYRA are available on our Calendar page.
4. Have a positive attitude and ensure that the kids have a great time!
